Safer than screw link

If a half moon screw link comes open while you're on rope then you might never get it closed again. That's scary if you're depending on it to exit a cave. If the gate comes open on the Omni while you're on rope then you simply close it and move on. Plus its faster and easier. Essential gear for a frog system.
Worth the upgrade

On one hand, this is the most expensive carabiner that I own, on the other hand, I will never go back to the steel. The steel half moons are fine for clean caves... but once you get them even a little bit muddy, the threads can become a serious issue. I have never had this carabiner jam on me or fail to close fully. When taking off and putting vertical gear in muddy conditions, this is the only way to go. Stop carrying around the channel locks... get one. Just bought a second one and I'm not looking back!
