The Dirty Dave Knee Pads will be very familiar to any former Bomber owners. Although the size and shape are the same, the Dirty Dave Pad is slightly thicker, consisting of a 5/8 inch thick neoprene pad. Unlike the alligator style closures on other knee pads, the closure system of the Dirty Dave is a nylon loop system which allows you to double the strap back on itself, for a greater range of adjustment. The three straps are made of 2 inch wide durable Elastic/Velcro material that offers a rock solid connection. This closure method makes application a breeze. So now you can leave your boots on after the approach hike. They wear great over polypro or under cave suits. The Dirty Daves are constructed of all nylon parts with a 1000 denier Nylon front panel. All connection points are double stitched giving the pads extra long life. The Dirty Daves knee pads are offered in small, medium, large sizes. The short pad is 12 inches in length and the long pad is 17 inches in length to fit a wide spectrum of legs. One of the many great attributes of the Dirty Daves is that they stay in place, a must for knee pads. In 10 to 15 minutes the Neoprene padding warms up from body heat and conforms to the front of the leg. The top of the nylon front panel rolls over to the inside giving the top of the pad greater abrasion resistance in those long crawl ways. By inverting that same rolled over top, you can remove the inner padding for easier cleaning.

Doesn't even feel like you are wearing kneepads!
Posted by Unknown on 28th May 2021
These are the best kneepads I have ever used while caving. I have used them in 2 caves so far going through mud, gravel, water, rocks, clay, etc. They protect the lower thigh/knee/upper shin nicely. These things are great! Honestly, it doesn't even feel like you are wearing pads. Plus, they don't slide down or shift from side to side. I'm 5' 10", 165 pounds and bought the MED but should have gotten the LG---the MED are OK, but the extra inch on the strap length would have been nice.

Easy on, easy off (which is what I wanted), good protection for the shins while playing softball. Arrived promptly. Thanks!

I received these kneepads just days before a trip and immediately tried them on after ripping open the shipping package. They fit perfectly and felt so great that I even spread out some of my kids Legos in the middle of the living room for a test of these kneepads. I felt nothing. My knees have finally found comfort in Dirty Daves. As for the true test this past weekend, the kneepads worked great and as promised, they didn't slide down my legs like other kneepads before them. I couldn't have purchased a better pair of kneepads.
“Bomber” kneepads reborn

I was disappointed when Bomber stopped making caving gear to focus on other outdoor sports. But Dirty Dave has done a great job filling the gap left by Bomber. These kneepads cover your entire shin as well as the knee. The removable neoprene padding makes them easy to clean in the era of WNS. the velcro straps keep the pads in place pretty well when bellycrawling in mud or wherever your passage leads. I also love the traction the pads provide for those awkward climbs. I appreciate any friction I can get when I’m covered in slippery mud and trying to get up a rock.

My Favorite Knee Pads
Posted by Unknown on 29th Jul 2020
I’m a caver and have been through many types and pairs of knee pads over the years, but these are my favorite. They provide the needed padding without being excessively bulky. They stay attached through all kinds of muck and passages. They are very robust and last a long time. And I love the length that keeps my shins from coming home battered and bleeding.
Cadillac of knee pads

I have been using these for years! I'm on my 4th or 5th pair. I can usually get a solid 2 years of heavy crawling out of one pair. Awesome knee and shin protection!! I'm a caver from the Mammoth Cave area. My friends and I abuse the hell out of these pads and they hold up! Best knee pads on the market!

They're made in T.A.G. and they're super comfortable and stay in place well. Hard to go wrong with these.

Dirty Dave's Knee Pads are the best!
Posted by Dave, but not the same Dave that makes these! on 9th Mar 2016
I've purchased many of these for myself and for gifts (I've even had some stollen from me). I recommend them to everyone. The long pads protect knees and chins, and stay in place through the long crawls better than anything else I have tried. Get 2 pairs so you always have a set that are clean and ready to go. You won't regret it!
